This blend of Tempranillo, Grenache, Viura, Albillo, and some ancient varieties grows on sandy-loam soils resting on a limestone subsoil, which gives the wine remarkable tension. The grapes are partially destemmed, some are foot-trodden, then fermentation and malolactic fermentation occur naturally before 13 months of aging in used 600-liter barrels, without fining or filtration. The wine opens with notes of blackberries, black cherry, licorice, and wild herbs, with a deep minerality that accompanies the entire tasting experience. The palate is full, elegant, supported by silky tannins and striking freshness that lengthens the finish.
