Marion moved to the Loire at the end of \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e2024\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, after training in viticulture and oenology, and the estate officially came into being in \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e2025\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. For this first vintage, they are working \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e3 hectares of vines\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, planted with \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eChenin and Cabernet Franc\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. A brand-new estate, with small quantities and a desire to build things gradually.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eThree hectares cultivated organically in Varrains\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe vines are farmed using \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eorganic agriculture\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, with a lot of manual work and particular attention paid to soil life and biodiversity. The grapes are harvested by hand. Marion and Simon are primarily looking to support their plots rather than impose a recipe on them, with the estate's two grape varieties as a starting point.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFirst wines made without additives\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn the cellar, Closa Populus gets straight to the point: \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003espontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts and vinification without additives\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. The wines are aged notably in \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eseveral types of oak barrels\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, on the lees, before \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eunfined, unfiltered, and unsulfured bottlings\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e of the first cuvées. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMaison Rouge\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, made from \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e100% Chenin\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003ePâture\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, made from \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e100% Cabernet Franc\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, are already setting the tone, while \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTélesphore\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e brings together the two grape varieties in equal parts.
