Antoine Sunier

After spending 13 years as an executive at Bouygues Télécom, Antoine decided to leave everything, his job as well as his Basque Country, to train in viticulture and winemaking in Beaune. He then found himself on the school benches alongside, among others, Camille Lapiere and Christelle Roch. His love of wine and this desire to make it does not come from nowhere for Antoine, it is quite simply thanks to his brother Julien. Julien Sunier then moved to Beaujolais in 2003. Antoine spends all his summers and holidays there helping out with friends, and that's where the natural wine virus ends up catching him. .
He therefore left to study in Burgundy, and did his apprenticeship first at the Château de Prémeaux, then learned the subtle art of winemaking from a leader in natural Beaujolais wines in the person of Jean-Claude Lapalu. It's a revelation! Already in love with the terroir of this region of Gamay, he decided to settle there and bought an estate with a little less than 4 ha of vines in the Régnié appellation, he then released his first vintage in 2014, becoming certified in organic in 2020 and subsequently expanded a little more with the purchase of other plots of Gamay to reach today an estate size of 5.5 ha: 4.3 on Régnié and 1.2 on Morgon. He favors a biodynamic approach to his vines and his wines, and although he adds a tiny dose of sulfur when bottling, he does not practice any fining or filtration on his vintages. Textured, velvety wines, high-class Gamay!
