Domaine des Vrilles

Domaine des Vrilles, but which tendrils are we talking about? First of all, inspiration drawn from the profession of sommelier, a subtle art of opening bottles, symbolized by the twist of the corkscrew. This tendril which, like a dancer, coils elegantly to release the precious liquid contained in a bottle of wine. An invitation to explore the delights contained in these bottles.
Then, there is the tendril of the vine, this vine which winds, twists and turns with grace to rise, proudly bearing the fruits of the terroir. It is a metaphor for working in harmony with nature, for the inseparable link between the winegrower and the vine. The vine itself, with its tendrils, reminds us of the essence of viticulture, the need to respect the natural rhythm of the growth and development of the grape clusters.
Finally, there is this southern expression, a dialect rooted in the region. “Desvrillé,” a word which evokes a certain disorder, a shift, as if we were to the west, slightly azimuthed. It's a touch of humor and authenticity, a nod to the simple and authentic life of the region.
William and Marianna embraced the wine adventure in 2018. They are the tenants of 2 and a half hectares of vines, including varieties of black, gray and white grenache, black and gray carignan, syrah and macabeu. Their estate is located in the charming town of Baixas, a few steps from Calce. Their training at the Gauby school, focused on the search for minerality and respect for the life of the soil, shines through in each bottle they produce. Their commitment to nature is reflected in the minimum doses of sulphites, just 1 to 2 grams per hectoliter. William and Marianna are part of this new generation of winegrowers, carrying a fresh and innovative vision for Roussillon, and we are proud to support them, because they represent the future of this beautiful wine region.
