Jean-Marc Dreyer

Jean-Marc Dreyer's vineyard is located in Rosheim, in Bas-Rhin. A former mixed-crop farm managed by his parents, the wine estate is made up of numerous plots scattered around the town of Rosheim. On these 6 hectares, we find a wide variety of grape varieties, as is often the case in Alsace: Auxerrois, Sylvaner, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat d'Alsace & Pinot Noir. After leaving wine school, Jean-Marc joined the family estate. Without sensitivity, initially, for organic farming, biodynamics and natural wine, he gradually realized that he had to modify his practices. It was following a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela that Jean-Marc radically changed his way of working, in the vineyard and in the cellar.

From now on, organic farming is obvious to Jean-Marc, and biodynamics will not take long to follow. Strongly influenced by the tenors of the Alsatian vineyard such as Jean Meyer and Pierre Frick, Jean-Marc quickly took his freedom. White grape varieties are generally vinified by whole-cluster maceration. Aging is often done in family tuns typical of the Alsatian vineyard. and give birth to wines that are sapid, expressive and full of emotion. Very little interventionist, Jean-Marc vinifies HEALTHY wines (Without any added Inputs or Sulphites) and is today a reference in Alsatian natural wines.

Jean-Marc is one of the first natural wine winegrowers that we met several years ago. His kindness, his friendship and his vision were key elements for us in our journey and in the adventure of Marée Haute. In 2020, we even had the pleasure of harvesting at the estate with Jean-Marc and his team. We will be delighted to introduce you to these wines and the many anecdotes hidden behind them…
