Small type

Pauline Maziou from Domaine Petite Nature is an artisan winemaker based in Ardèche. As is often the case, we met through mutual winegrower friends: it was during the first edition of our Fanfare & Pinard festival that Pauline came to Oléron to introduce us to her wines. Invited by Simon Batardière, she was able to discover Oléron and our cellar.
La Fée Paulette, as she likes to call herself, created Petite Nature in 2019 after a period of professional retraining. It is in the heart of Ardèche that she trained, first with Jean Delobre at La Ferme des 7 Lunes, then with Daniel Sage. She will end up putting her luggage there. Born into a family of farmers, they passed on to her a love of the land, and from there, little Pauline already saw her life on the farm.
At Pauline, the work in the vineyards is obviously carried out by hand and with a certain attention to detail. Only his old tractor which responds to the sweet name of Tintin has the right to lightly work the soil. Obviously, the vines are cultivated organically, with a strong biodynamic inspiration (respect for the lunar calendar, use of herbal teas, etc.).
Pauline has a simple, yet complex ambition to implement in the cellar: to cultivate her grapes as best as possible in order to be able to accompany the wines in the cellar as simply as possible. No input allowed, support and attention. The vintages are often the result of blends, she borrows some techniques from her peers - dip in particular - and gradually defines the contours of an inimitable style.
Pauline Maziou thus wins vintage after vintage the hearts of numerous tasters who love delicate, sincere and vibrant wines. Its small production unfortunately makes its wines often difficult to obtain, but keep your eyes peeled and you will be able to get your hands (and your nose) on some pretty bottles of Petite Nature.
