Julien Desrante is a Charente winemaker, one of the few to offer natural wine. In search, since 2011, of a vineyard to take over to set up organic, Julien gets his hands on a plot already converted in 2014. The La Part aux Groles adventure can begin. Initially, he bought and vinified his first grapes with the help of friends and family. A fan of organic, natural and living wines, Julien is directly in line with this work perspective; harvesting and manual destemming, punching down, vinification without inputs, bottling without fining or filtration, thus favoring "gentle" methods as much as possible. After 9 years of research, Julien settled down by taking over a farm located in Julienne. It consists of 11.9 ha intended for the production of Cognac and 1.9 ha for its natural wine vintages (VSIG). Some vines being very young, Julien continues to buy organic grapes on the vine. The treatments are based on copper and sulfur (supplemented by citrus essential oils and plant extracts). Ground work is mechanized, animal traction is currently being considered. The simple Guyot Poussard intaglio is made by Julien Desrante as well as most of the manual work. A worthy representative of natural wines in our beautiful region!
