Les Ardoisières
The history of Domaine des Ardoisières, located in the small village of Cevins, in the heart of the valley leading to Albertville, is the story of an exciting human adventure that began in 1997. It all began with the ambition of a Savoyard mayor. , Denis Perroux, who wanted to breathe new life into a hillside formerly covered with vines intended for subsistence use. When the economy declined, the vines disappeared, except for a few diehard stumps. The land became fallow until Denis Perroux undertook a replanting project to revitalize his town. This ambitious challenge required the commitment of enthusiasts, notably Michel Grisard, a biodynamic winemaker, and Brice Omont.
The estate was created in 1998 by Michel Grisard to cultivate 16 hectares of vines spread over the slopes of Cevins and Saint-Pierre de Soucy. Brice Omont joined him in 2005. Viticulture here is heroic due to slopes of up to 60% and very low yields. The vines are mainly planted with native grape varieties, including Jacquère, Roussanne, Altesse, Mondeuse noire et blanche, Chardonnay, Gamay and Persan.
Biodynamic viticulture practices, horse work and the great attention paid to the quality of the grapes are the pillars of the Domaine des Ardoisières approach. The result is a range of wines which express the purity and authenticity of the Savoyard terroir. The estate's wines are the result of exceptional perseverance, based on a deep understanding of the terroir and the conviction that soil preservation is essential. Domaine des Ardoisières has become a reference in Savoie and internationally, alongside prestigious estates or winemakers such as Jean-Yves Peron or Dominique Belluard. The estate's vintages, today entirely vinified by Brice Omont, ranging from Argile in Red and White to Altesse Quartz and the Mondeuse-Persan blend of the Améryste vintage, are distinguished by their purity, their tension and their finesse.
