Our meeting with Patrick Desplats, a legendary name from Anjou, was more than memorable. Patrick Desplats first co-founded Domaine des Griottes in 2001. Since 2011, Patrick has taken the reins alone, and his estate is nestled in the heart of the charming town of Saint Lambert Du Lattay. With nine hectares of vines stretching along the region's most prestigious appellations, Patrick clearly embodies the passion for natural wines.
Patrick Desplats cultivates the typical grape varieties of the region, such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chenin, he makes it a point of honor to respect the soil and biodiversity. Each plot is treated with particular attention, responding to its specific needs to allow the unique personality of each terroir to be fully expressed.
In his cellar, winemaking is carried out with no inputs. This approach allows the fruits to naturally release and develop all their aromas, creating wines of great purity. Patrick Desplats' vintages are fresh, fragrant, and strikingly reflect the terroir and grape varieties of the region.
Among its vintages, we find an orange wine called “Fleurs macération”, made from Chardonnay, Chenin and Sauvignon. This vintage demonstrates Patrick's innovation and creativity, offering a unique taste experience.
