Domaine Mouressipe
Domaine Mouressipe, the sincerity of the Cévennes in the glass
A free voice in the heart of Gard
It was in the Gard Cévennes , between scrubland and sun-heated pebbles , that Alain Allier founded Domaine Mouressipe in the early 2000s . A former garage owner , converted to natural wine by Eric Pfifferling , he quickly sensed the limits of viticulture that was too technical , too chemical , too disconnected from life . Former employees, Pierre & Camille took over the estate in January 2024. First vintage 2024 to discover now!
A radical and peasant approach
At the Mouressipe estate , everything is done by hand , with an artisanal and earthy approach . Alain has cultivated his plots organically since the beginning, without labels, without folklore, simply because he cannot imagine doing otherwise. Pierre & Camille have the same approach. The local grape varieties - Carignan, Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache, Clairette - express themselves on clay-limestone soils , often swept by the wind , in a warm climate that the vines learn to tame year after year. In the cellar, there is no sulfur, no cheating , just grapes and time , with slow aging , on lees, without intervention.
