No Control
Vincent Marie, natural winemaker in Auvergne
An estate committed to natural viticulture
Domaine No Control , run by Vincent Marie, is located in Volvic, in the north of Puy-de-Dôme, in Auvergne . Since 2012 , this estate has been committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, using organic farming, with the aim of obtaining biodynamic certification . The vines, aged from 5 to 120 years , are cultivated without oenological inputs , without filtration or the addition of sulfites , thus reflecting the pure expression of the region's volcanic terroir.
Wine-growing practices that respect living things
On an area of 4.5 hectares , the estate cultivates grape varieties such as Gamay, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vines are worked in simple Guyot , with controlled grassing and ploughing carried out by hand or with the help of horses, promoting biodiversity and microbial life in the soil. The harvest is carried out manually in 18 kg crates to preserve the integrity of the grapes. In the cellar, vinification is done without any oenological input , without filtration or fining, and without the addition of sulphites. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the wines are aged on lees in vats or barrels, offering authentic and expressive vintages.
Emblematic vintages
The estate offers a range of vintages with evocative names, often inspired by rock music, reflecting Vincent Marie's personality. Among them are: Les Crosses : a white made from Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Auxerrois and Sylvaner, aged for 18 months. Sigma : a red blend of Gamay, Pinot Noir, Sylvaner and Gewurztraminer . Incendie et Pagaille : a cuvée of Gamay and Pinot Noir from plots on granite sand. La Coulée : a rare cuvée of Syrah and Gamay, from a plot on an old lava flow, available only in magnum.
Each wine is a sincere expression of the volcanic terroir of Auvergne, offering unique aromatic profiles and great drinkability.
