Les Volets Rouges
Young natural vines in Fleurie
A committed wine estate in Beaujolais
Domaine Les Volets Rouges is a young wine estate located in Fleurie , one of the emblematic crus of Beaujolais . Founded in December 2022 by Antoine and Marie , the estate covers 4.11 hectares divided into eight distinct parcels , mainly planted with old Gamay vines , some of which are over a hundred years old , on steep slopes with soils of decomposed pink granite and sand , typical of the Fleurie terroir .
Organic and biodynamic viticulture
Committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, Antoine and Marie practice organic and biodynamic farming , currently in their third year of conversion . The harvest is done by hand , and the winemaking process is carried out without the addition of sulfites , favoring the use of concrete , stainless steel , and concrete egg-shaped tanks to preserve the purity and expression of the terroir .
Fresh and authentic living wines
The estate's first harvest took place in 2023 , resulting in wines made without additives , fresh and fruity , aged in concrete tanks and old demi-muids . Their minimalist approach in the cellar , with little or no added sulfites , aims to produce vibrant and authentic wines , faithfully reflecting the character of Gamay and the Fleurie terroir .
