Château Gaillard
Domaine Château Gaillard: the biodynamic soul of Touraine-Mesland
In Mesland, on the peaceful banks of the Loire , Domaine Château Gaillard has embodied a demanding and respectful vision of winemaking for over forty years. In 1978, Vincent Girault took over the reins of this historic estate and initiated a pioneering transition to biodynamic agriculture, certified Demeter in 1992. A rare commitment at the time, it still shapes the core identity of its wines today.
Biodynamic viticulture to reveal Touraine in a new light
On approximately 32 hectares of vines , Vincent Girault cultivates a delicate balance between terroir and living organisms. Here, there are no herbicides or chemical inputs : the soils are worked gently, in harmony with the seasons and lunar cycles. Chenin, Chardonnay, Gamay, Côt, Cabernet Franc , and Cabernet Sauvignon flourish, giving rise to vibrant wines, full of energy and elegance.
Authentic Loire wines, balancing precision and indulgence
In the winery, winemaking prioritizes natural fermentations and minimal intervention, with absolute respect for the grapes. Château Gaillard offers an expressive range of reds, whites , and Crémants de Loire, all elegant, authentic, and bearing a true Loire Valley signature. Each bottle tells the story of this unspoiled nature, this discreet yet powerful terroir that whispers to those who know how to listen.
Château Gaillard: a must-visit estate for lovers of natural wines
Whether it's for a glass of vibrant Chenin Blanc , a fresh and easy-drinking red, or a delicately crafted Crémant de Loire , Domaine Château Gaillard has established itself as one of the most inspiring wineries in Touraine-Mesland. Their work is precise and sincere, giving pride of place to the emotion of living wine.
