Domaine Courbet
A Jura icon with renewed elegance
A family story rooted since 1869
Domaine Courbet is one of the oldest and most emblematic family estates in the Jura and Château Chalon. Founded in 1869, the estate is now in the hands of Damien Courbet. With a degree in oenology and a rich history of encounters and travels in the vineyards, including in California and South Africa, Damien took over the family estate in 2011, working hand in hand with his father.
A committed organic viticulture
Drawing on all these experiences in the vineyards, Damien is behind Domaine Courbet's conversion to organic farming. The vines are located in Nevy-sur-Seille, in the heart of the Côtes du Jura, just a few hundred meters from Château-Chalon, where the entire Domaine Courbet is harvested by hand, using the most natural methods possible, with no use of chemicals.
Between respect for grapes and innovation
Vinification is carried out with the utmost respect for the grapes, with fermentation using indigenous yeasts and little or no sulfur during ageing. Always on the lookout for constant innovation,
Pure, precise and elegant wines
Damien Courbet has also evolved his wine-ageing methods, bringing concrete eggsinto the winery as well as stoneware vats. Damien Courbet offers us clean, elegant wines, symbols of the Jura revival.
