Domaine aux Moines
A Chenin stronghold in Savennières
A story of women and legacy
Located in Savennières, on the banks of the Loire, Domaine aux Moines is a renowned vineyard managed by Tessa Laroche, who succeeded her mother Monique. Founded in 1981, the estate extends over 12 hectares of organically and biodynamically farmed vines, nestled on the south/southwest slopes of the Roche aux Moines hillside.
An exceptional terroir of the Loire
Schist, rhyolite and privileged microclimate
The Domaine aux Moines vineyard benefits from an ideal microclimate, thanks to its privileged exposure and soils composed of sandstone schist and rhyolite. The only grape variety grown here is Chenin, the emblematic variety of the Savennières appellation. The vines, surrounded by orchards and integrated into an agroforestry landscape, thrive in this exceptional natural setting.
Living and committed agriculture
Biodynamics, biodiversity and hand-harvesting
Committed to environmentally-friendly viticulture, the estate uses biodynamic and organic practices. Every decision is carefully considered to preserve biodiversity and soil vitality. The grapes are harvested by hand, allowing a rigorous selection of bunches to guarantee optimum quality when they reach the cellar.
Great purity in Chenin wines
No-input winemaking, exceptional wines
The estate's wines, vinified without chemical inputs or added sulfites, are distinguished by their purity and expressiveness. Chenin, the estate's unique grape variety, gives rise to dry white wines of great complexity, marked by deep minerality and fine acidity.
International recognition
Domaine aux Moines wines enjoy a prestigious reputation, being present on the finest tables and in the most discerning cellars. This recognition testifies to the exceptional quality of the wines produced and the passion that drives Tessa and her team.
