Terre des Passages
Land of Passages, a sensitive reading of contemporary Jura
Vintages on display, precise gestures, and wines without protection
Terre des Passages is a young Jura estate that champions a clear-sighted and committed approach to the vintage , without trying to mask the vagaries of the weather. Here, the wine is conceived as a direct expression of the year , with its tensions, its fragilities, and its sometimes precarious balances. The winemaking choices reflect this: indigenous yeasts , limited intervention, very low sulfur levels , and a constant pursuit of drinkability and precision rather than power.
Honest blends, natural balances and juice energy
The wines of Terre des Passages rely on simple and straightforward blends , such as Trousseau and Pinot Noir , or on white wines where Chardonnay is aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks and old oak barrels to achieve a balance between tension and roundness . Fermentation and aging processes prioritize the clarity of the fruit, a light texture, and an immediate, vibrant energy .
The estate produces sometimes minuscule quantities , due to the challenging conditions in the Jura region in recent years, and offers vibrant, delicate, and authentic wines that are immediately drinkable but also benefit from further aging. Terre des Passages thus joins a generation of estates that have chosen transparency , respect for nature , and an unvarnished expression of the Jura terroir and its vintages.
