Clos Rougeot

Bastien Leclerc, Domaine du Clos Rougeot: Champagne from Congy, right where it's grown

A new address on the border of Sézanne and Petit Morin

Installed in Vert-Toulon , Bastien Leclerc launches his own project, the Domaine du Clos Rougeot , with its first vinifications from the 2021 vintage . The momentum comes from a family plot in Congy , at the place called Les Cornabeaux , whose grapes he buys back to vinify by hand: an intimate, almost domestic starting point, which becomes a signature.

Parcel-grown, aged in oak barrels, and vibrant, unadulterated champagnes

The heart of the domain can be seen in an approach Single-vineyard and vintage , with champagnes crafted to let the essence speak for itself. The cuvée The Cornabeaux (C69.21) is a Blanc de Blancs from Chardonnay old vines (planted in 1969 ) on a hillside facing due south , with complex soil mixing clays And Deep chalk , often with a presence of flint . Livestock farming in oak barrel , the spirit raw and natural and the search for purity shape the wines alive , taut, textured, which favour straightness and salinity over effect.
