Un Cabernet Franc de Saumur comme on en croise rarement. Revenu s’installer en famille en 2022, Stéphane Meyer signe ici une cuvée minuscule, issue d’une vigne familiale qui a peu donné sur ce millésime 2023 exigeant, marqué par un début de saison humide, un été très chaud et un tri drastique à la vigne comme en cave. Les raisins, bien mûrs et profondément aromatiques, ont été mis en macération pendant neuf mois avant un élevage en trois barriques, pour une production de moins de 900 bouteilles. Le vin s’ouvre sur un fruit noir mûr, une profondeur terrienne et une minéralité traçante qui portent le Cabernet Franc très loin des lectures variétales classiques. La bouche est intense mais fraîche, dense mais jamais lourde, avec cette patte paysanne, rare et habitée, qui rappelle les très grands rouges de Loire. Un vin de cave, de patience et d’émotion, déjà appelé à devenir une bouteille recherchée.

Clara has worked in the spirits industry for several years. She has contributed to the renown of Archibald - the French distillery tonic made near Bordeaux - and the Folle Envie aperitif. A native of the Ile d'Oléron and the daughter of fishmongers, her values include respect for fresh produce, short supply chains and a passion for nature.
Baptiste grew up on the Ile d'Oléron. He worked for a biodynamic wine estate in Burgundy and discovered natural wine several years ago. Since then, he has travelled extensively in France and elsewhere to meet these passionate winemakers.
