La Mariota
Domaine La Mariota, an Argentine interpretation of Roussillon
Two Sommeliers Turned Winemakers
Domaine La Mariota, nestled in Roussillon, is run by Cecilia and Guillermo, a passionate couple of Argentine origin. Both came from sommelier backgrounds, then trained, notably at Danjou-Banessy, no less! Together, they chose to produce natural wines, respectful of the environment and deeply rooted in their Mediterranean terroir.
Artisanal Viticulture Serving the Terroir
The estate stands out for its sustainable and artisanal approach to viticulture, with total respect for natural cycles and careful soil management. The grape varieties cultivated, largely indigenous, are vinified with care to reveal the authenticity of the region.
Lively, Precise, and Expressive Wines
The Roc de la Vella 2023 cuvée, for example, is a delicate, pure, and mineral white, made from Macabeu vines on schist soils. Their maceration wine Orange Tacsum 2022, a unique blend of Muscat d'Alexandrie and Muscat à petits grains, offers an original and aromatic experience, typical of the estate.
