THE Domaine de l'Octavin is an essential figure of the a natural Jura vineyard. It is located in Arbois , one of the richest historical areas of Jura wine region . Founded in 2005 by Alice Bouvot with Charles Dagand , the estate has grown from a few plots to reach approximately 7 hectares of vines cultivated in organic farming Then Demeter certified biodynamic from 2010.
Alice, a native of the Jura region, trained in with a background in agronomy and oenology , he traveled to several vineyards abroad before returning to his family land to create his own project, blending Sensitivity, observation, and spontaneity . His approach is based on a Deep respect for life : from working the vineyard without weeding or chemicals to winemaking without inputs or additives (no sulfur, no yeast, no filtering) , allowing each vintage and each terroir to express itself clearly.
A Jura palette, names that sing
The estate pays particular attention to the diversity of Jura grape varieties : Trousseau, Poulsard, Savagnin, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir , but also some rarer or négociant approaches depending on the year, reflecting a living reading of the local terroir.
There philosophy of the domain is distinguished not only by the quality of its wines — often described as vibrant, fresh, lively and authentic — but also by choosing a a unique aesthetic universe , with wine names inspired by the musical world (Mozart and his characters), symbolizing the desire for harmony between nature and the expression of wine .
