Sylvain Messager, a Jura of freedom between Loue and Arbois

Buffard, small plots and artisanal spirit

Located in Buffard, in the Loue valley, at the gates of the Jura vineyard, Sylvain Messager runs a small estate spread over several plots between Villette-lès-Arbois, Les Arsures, Byans-sur-Doubs and the surroundings of Buffard. The vineyard currently covers about 1.5 hectares, cultivated organically, with particular attention paid to the natural balance of the soils and vines.

Living wines, without a predetermined recipe

Sylvain Messager belongs to this new generation of Jura winemakers who favor small productions and minimally interventionist winemaking. The cuvées are made from the emblematic grape varieties of the region, with a constant search for freshness, drinkability, and expression of the terroir. Aging and vinification are carried out with restraint to preserve the identity of each vintage and each plot.

The wines of Sylvain Messager are distinguished by their energy, their spontaneity, and their deeply lively character. Frank, sincere, and accessible cuvées that reflect both the winemaker's personality and the diversity of these terroirs located between the wine-growing Jura and the Loue valley.
