Emrich Schönleber
Emrich-Schönleber, absolute precision from the Nahe
Monzingen, steep slate and great Riesling crus
In Monzingen, in the Nahe valley, the Emrich-Schönleber estate is a world reference for Riesling. Led by Werner Schönleber, the vineyard rests on steep slopes of blue and red slate, with major crus such as Halenberg, Auf der Lay and Frühlingsplätzchen. Yields are low, and the viticultural work is meticulous, designed to preserve the balance between ripeness and freshness in a cool but bright climate.
Dry Rieslings, mineral tension and longevity
Slow fermentations, often in large neutral containers, allow wines of crystalline purity to emerge, without artifice. Emrich-Schönleber's Rieslings are dry, deep, marked by a saline tension and an almost surgical precision. These are wines that never seek to impress, but which assert themselves through their terroir readability and their exceptional aging potential, embodying a Germany of rectitude and silence.
