Vina Herzanovi

The audacity of a family estate in Moravia

A family estate dedicated to natural expression

In the village of Kobylí , in South Moravia, Jakub Herzán has joined forces with Sandra and Zuzana to run the Herzanovi estate , founded in the 1990s by their father. The 4.3-hectare vineyard is currently undergoing conversion to biodynamic and certified organic farming, with the aim of managing the soil, the vines, and biodiversity in a way that respects them.
The traditional grape varieties – Grüner Veltliner (Veltlínské zelené), Müller-Thurgau , St. Laurent , or Cabernet Moravia – are grown on clay-loam soils over a loess subsoil, true indicators of the local terroir.

Lively, energetic and iconic wines

The wines are aged in used French oak barrels, in Georgian vats and qvevri, a testament to Jakub 's fascination with long maceration.
The approach also includes natural pet-nats and deliberately minimal sulfiting, or even none at all for certain cuvées such as the " earthen " range. Flagship products include a juicy Blaufränkisch, a mineral Sylvaner, a peppery Veltliner, as well as vibrant macerated whites and pet-nats with delicate and profound structures.
Vína Herzánovi is now gaining recognition among natural wine lovers, embodying the strength of a family project driven by sincerity, energy and exploration of the Moravian terroir.
