Paziols, old vines and artisanal spirit

Located in Paziols, at the gates of the Corbières massif, the Les Gragnotes estate is run by Erika Mazer and Benoît Guillot. Established in 2017, the estate spans approximately 6.5 hectares of vines nestled in the Hautes Corbières valley, a wild landscape of garrigue, wind, and light where some plots are over 50 years old, with some century-old vines still in production.

The name of the estate refers to the "Granhòtas", the Occitan word for frogs, a nickname given to the inhabitants of Paziols. The vines are mainly trained in old goblet style, with significant manual work made necessary by the age of the vines and their traditional planting density. From their inception, Erika and Benoît committed the estate to an organic farming approach, with the aim of progressively strengthening practices that promote soil life and biodiversity.

Lively wines, between freshness and Mediterranean character

The estate cultivates the great grape varieties of the region: Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Lledoner Pelut, Macabeu, Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, and Muscat. In the cellar, vinifications are carried out with minimal intervention: indigenous yeasts, no inputs other than very small doses of sulfur depending on the cuvées, no fining, and no systematic filtration.

The wines of Les Gragnotes seek less power than the expression of the place. They offer fresh and spicy reds, luminous whites, and cuvées that always maintain a beautiful energy despite the southern sun. A sincere and artisanal interpretation of the Corbières, brought to life by two winemakers who prioritize vitality, drinkability, and the identity of their old vines.
