Marc Pinto and Louis Mathieu are based in Chagny, in Burgundy. Marc is Louis' uncle, he bought these 0.2 hectares of Pinot Noir located in the town of Aluze in 2011, when Louis was born. Together they now co-manage the Les Nargillets micro-estate. The story therefore begins with Marc, who alongside his work as a hygiene consultant for estates in Burgundy and elsewhere, decided to start his wine business. To do this, he rehabilitated the cellar of his great-great-grandparents who made wine there before the First World War. Marc will very soon try his hand - below the radar and away from the light of known natural wine estates - at sulfur-free winemaking. It was in his corner that he experimented for many years, until being joined by Louis in 2015. Together, they produced around 900 bottles per year. An artisanal production to say the least... The Pinot Noir are destemmed and maceration. Free-run juice and press juice are matured separately before being, or not, assembled before bottling. The wines of the Les Nargillets estate are characterized by their freshness, balance and purity. They delight the few amateurs who are lucky enough to know the area.
