Les Foulards Rouges
Living and radical wines on the slopes of Montesquieu
Jean-François Nicq , a former oenologist who has returned to the essentials, is shaking up the wine world from his home base in Montesquieu-des-Albères . With Les Foulards Rouges, he has made Roussillon a hub for biodynamic wine, free from dogma and driven by nature. His pioneering and committed approach prioritizes the energy of the fruit, clarity of expression, and a joyful radicalism.
From free-ranging vines to slippery juices
The vines are cultivated organically , the grapes are harvested by hand , and the winemaking process is carried out without additives or corrective techniques. Gentle maceration, little or no sulfur, and light aging: everything is designed to preserve the fruit's character. Wines such as Octobre , Frida , and Les Vilains offer fluid reds, herbaceous whites, and characterful rosés.
Les Foulards Rouges are militant wines, of absolute frankness — to be drunk for pleasure, but also for what they say about free wine.
