Domaine des Trouillères
Domaine des Trouillères: Volcanic Auvergne in full vitality
Corent, Les Martres-de-Veyre and a takeover led by Camille and Mikaël Hyvert
Located in Martres-de-Veyre, on the Corent plateau, the Domaine des Trouillères is now run by Camille and Mikaël Hyvert. Arriving in Auvergne in 2015, after experience in several vineyards, they took over the estate in 2016, attracted by the volcanic landscapes and the wine-making history of the area. The estate was created by Jean-Pierre Pradier, an important figure in the Auvergne vineyard, who notably initiated organic conversion in 2009.
The vineyard extends over approximately 6 hectares, between the slopes of Puy de Corent and Puy de Tobize. These soils, marked by ancient volcanic activity, give the wines a very particular expression: structure, freshness, sometimes a smoky touch, and the mineral tension that makes the Côtes d'Auvergne so unique.
Organic, native yeasts, and "naked" wines
The vines are cultivated using organic farming practices, with a strong focus on living organisms and soil balance. In the cellar, fermentations are carried out with native yeasts, aging continues depending on the cuvées in tanks, amphorae or demi-muids, and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration.
Gamay finds a particularly vibrant expression here, with fresh, light, spicy, sometimes slightly smoky juices, carried by a true deliciousness. The wines of Domaine des Trouillères embody a direct and lively Auvergne: frank, digestible cuvées, rooted in their volcanic soil, but always designed for drinking pleasure.
