Domaine Bonnardot
Domaine Bonnardot: The Hautes-Côtes de Bourgogne interpreted with vitality and artisanal flair
Villers-la-Faye, a family history between Beaune and Nuits
Located in Villers-la-Faye, in the heart of the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Domaine Bonnardot is a family estate passed down through several generations. Currently managed by Danièle Bonnardot, supported by Ludovic, Émilien, and Antoine, the estate cultivates approximately 22 hectares spread across the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, and some plots in communal appellations such as Ladoix, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru, or Côte de Nuits-Villages.
The estate is increasingly committed to a living approach: the vines are managed using organic farming practices, with certification obtained in 2024, and meticulous attention to soils, natural balances, and ripeness. In Villers-la-Faye, on these cooler and higher slopes of Burgundy, the wines naturally develop a particular tension and energy.
Authentic, precise wines rooted in their terroir
In the cellar, winemaking prioritizes indigenous yeasts and minimizes enological inputs, in a philosophy of respecting the fruit and the vintage. The estate works with Pinot Noir as well as Chardonnay and Aligoté, to which the family is particularly dedicated — notably through its involvement in the Aligoteurs association. Some cuvées illustrate this desire to explore Burgundy with freedom, such as Un Pas de Côté, from a young plot planted in 2019 between Villers-la-Faye and Chaux, on clay-limestone soils.
The wines of Domaine Bonnardot primarily seek authenticity: fresh and precise reds, taut yet generous whites, with the sensation of wines designed for the table and sharing rather than for show.
