Damien Guadagnolo
Damien Guadagnolo, the Jura passion at the service of living wine
A unique journey, from boxing to the vineyards of Orbagna
In Orbagna , in the southern Jura region of the Révermont , Damien Guadagnolo has forged an extraordinary destiny. A former professional boxer , he traded his gloves for pruning shears after spending seven years working alongside Jean-François Ganevat , a master winemaker in the Jura. In 2019 , he released his first true vintage , following a few limited-production cuvées in 2015, and established his own estate on approximately 2 hectares of organically farmed land . Coming from a family where manual labor and hard work are core values, Damien is quickly establishing himself as a rising star in the world of natural Jura wines.
Unpretentious, vibrant, and deeply rooted wines
In his vineyards, Chardonnay, Trousseau, and Poulsard find an ideal setting in the soils of the Révermont. The vines are cultivated organically , with meticulous care for the soil and the living organisms. In the cellar, Damien follows a radically natural approach: hand-harvesting , fermentation with indigenous yeasts , no additives , and no added sulfur. The aging process, often long and patient, reveals wines that are both honest and vibrant, expressing the purity of the terroir , the mineral tension , and the energy of the fruit . Each cuvée bears the imprint of his hand: direct, sincere, and deeply felt, like an echo of his past as an athlete.
