Anne and Jean-François Ganevat

Jean-François Ganevat, an emblematic figure of the Jura

A return to family roots

Jean-François Ganevat , often nicknamed " Fanfan ," is an iconic winemaker in the Jura region. In 1998, after working as cellar master at Jean -Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet , Burgundy , he took over the family estate at La Combe de Rotalier with his sister Anne, representing the 14th generation of the family to manage this vineyard. The estate, covering 13 hectares , has been cultivated biodynamically since 2006.

An incredible diversity of vintages

The estate produces over 50 different wines each year, using a wide variety of local grapes, including rare and old varieties such as Petit Béclan , Gros Béclan , and Poulsard Blanc . Jean-François Ganevat is known for his natural and minimalist approach to winemaking, using only indigenous yeasts, without the addition of sulfur , filtration , or fining.

A brother-sister duo at the helm

Anne Ganevat , who works alongside her brother, plays a very important role in managing the estate and making the wines. Together, they have developed an impressive range of wines, from classic Jura wines, such as Vin Jaune and Crémant du Jura , to more experimental and innovative cuvées from their négociant business, which include grapes from other regions such as Alsace, Savoie and Beaujolais.

A benchmark for vibrant, terroir-driven wines

Their wines are renowned for their purity, precision, and ability to express the unique terroir of the Jura. Domaine Ganevat has become a benchmark for lovers of natural, terroir-driven wines, contributing significantly to the international renown of Jura wines.
