Domaine des Notes Bleues
Natural harmonies between jazz and the Jura region
A human-scale estate with a strong identity
Domaine des Notes Bleues is a vineyard located in the Jura region , founded in 2017 by Cédric Mottet , a passionate and talented winemaker. The estate's name is a nod to jazz, evoking the improvised notes that bring a unique touch to the music—an analogy to Cédric's creative approach to winemaking. The estate covers approximately 6.5 hectares, with no plans to expand, allowing Cédric to focus on producing high-quality wines.
An inspiration rooted in biodynamics
Inspired by renowned winemakers such as Stéphane Tissot and Jean-Michel Petit , he practices organic viticulture , with a particular focus on biodynamics . The wines of Domaine des Notes Bleues are made from local grape varieties, with a plot-by-plot approach that highlights the specific characteristics of each terroir.
Artisanal winemaking in the service of precision
Customized breeding programs and bold experiments
The red wines are generally aged for 8 to 10 months in stainless steel tanks , while the white wines are aged for at least 24 months in used oak barrels . Some white wines, however, are released earlier due to economic constraints. Cédric is also experimenting with hybrid grape varieties better suited to changing climatic conditions.
A range of wines that sing the praises of the Jura
From "Pinot Cul du Bray" to "Les Sarres"
Among the notable wines are " Pinot Cul du Bray ," an elegant Pinot Noir from a unique terroir, and "Les Sarres" Savagnin Ouillé, from a plot near the village of Grozon, expressing all the minerality and freshness of the grape variety. Also featured is Ploussard , a delicate and fruity wine typical of the Jura region, as well as the Chardonnay "La Pierre , " which perfectly illustrates the tension and complexity of this grape variety in the Jura terroir. These wines highlight Cédric's expertise and his commitment to sustainable winemaking practices.
