Domaine Mouressipe

Domaine Mouressipe, the sincerity of the Cévennes in a glass

A free voice in the heart of the Gard region

It was in the Cévennes mountains of the Gard region , amidst scrubland and sun-baked pebbles , that Alain Allier founded Domaine Mouressipe in the early 2000s . A former garage owner , converted to natural winemaking by Eric Pfifferling , he quickly sensed the limitations of a viticulture that was too technical , too chemical , too disconnected from nature . Former employees Pierre and Camille took over the estate in January 2024. The first 2024 vintage is available now!

A radical and peasant approach

At Domaine Mouressipe , everything is done by hand , with a focus on traditional, earthy methods . Alain has cultivated his plots organically from the start, without labels or fanfare, simply because he can't imagine doing it any other way. Pierre and Camille share this approach. The local grape varietiesCarignan, Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache, and Clairette —thrive on clay-limestone soils , often swept by the wind , in a warm climate that the vines learn to tame year after year. In the cellar, there's no sulfur, no trickery , just grapes and time , with slow aging on the lees, without intervention.
