The White Rush
A living agriculture in the heart of Périgord
A peasant estate, committed and free
Rooted in Vélines , in the clay-limestone hills of the Dordogne , Le Jonc Blanc is unlike any other estate . Here, Isabelle Carles and Franck Pascal cultivate much more than vines: they cultivate a philosophy, a commitment, a way of being in the world . Since 2000 , their adventure has championed a peasant-based, free, and vibrant viticulture , where biodiversity, nature, and wine form an inseparable ecosystem .
A living, unadulterated viticulture
Certified organic for over twenty years and committed to a deeply agroecological approach , they reject any treatments for convenience or ease . Ground cover is natural , soil cultivation is gentle , yields are low , and the vines express themselves freely . Every decision is made in dialogue with the living world , with constant attention paid to soil health and the plant's balance .
Winemaking without dogma, but with conviction
In the winery, there are no rigid dogmas, only a clear principle: let nature take its course . Fermentation occurs naturally, without added yeast or other additives , in a variety of containers (barrels, vats, amphorae) depending on the cuvée and its character. No filtration, no fining, sometimes not even sulfites . Wine is a living entity, never static, always evolving . Each cuvée tells a story—that of a place, a vintage, an intention .
Isabelle and Franck: putting people first
Through their vibrant, always honest and unique wines , Isabelle and Franck assert their freedom of expression , their rejection of imposed norms , and their commitment to authenticity . They don't seek to please, but to share . Le Jonc Blanc is not a superficial estate ; it is a lived-in place, deeply embodied , where each bottle is a heartfelt and genuine statement .
