Champagne Jacques Lassaigne

The chalky brilliance of Montgueux, elevated by signature winemaking

An exceptional terroir on the chalk soils of the Côte des Bar

On the Côte des Bar, in the village of Montgueux, the vines of Champagnes Jacques Lassaigne draw their essence from a literally exceptional terroir. While the soils of the Aube region are mainly composed of Portlandian or Kimmeridgian clay-limestone, those of Montgueux are underlain by chalk. Managed with passion and mastery by Emmanuel Lassaigne since 1999, these 4.7 hectares of family vineyards reveal all the richness of this unique terroir, often referred to as the Montrachet of Champagne.

A biological viticulture guided by deep respect for life

The vineyard, planted mainly with Chardonnay and a small amount of Pinot Noir, is managed with the greatest respect for the environment, using a rigorous organic approach. No pesticides, chemical fertilizers or synthetic products are tolerated in these vineyards, where natural grass cover is favored and manual work is systematic.

Parcel-level precision and patient ageing in the cellar

Hand-picking is the prelude to natural, low-intervention vinification in the cellar. Each plot is vinified with precision, allowing each cuvée to reveal its own unique identity. The wines undergo complete malolactic fermentation and are aged in single- or multi-wine barrels for 12 to 24 months, before resting in bottle for 1 to 5 years, depending on the cuvée and vintage.

Lively, elegant champagnes with a strong sense of identity

The result? Champagnes brimming with emotion, character and authenticity, veritable treasures from the vineyard that bear witness to the expertise and passion of an artisan winemaker. Low-intervention vinification, ageing on fine lees and respect for the time required for each cuvée give these champagnes remarkable complexity and elegance.

An invitation to taste the soul of Montgueux’s terroir

Champagne Jacques Lassaigne invites wine lovers to discover the very essence of the Montgueux terroir, through cuvées that celebrate the art of natural winemaking with grace and subtlety.
