Bixente Indart
Bixente Indart, the young and free spirit of Irouléguy
A family heritage reinvented
Bixente Indart settled in 2021 on the lands of the Goienetxea family farm, located in Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry , in the Irouléguy appellation. Created in 1987 by Pantxo Indart , the estate previously sold its grapes to the cooperative or to other producers. After experiences with renowned winegrowers in Madiran, Corsica and at Domaine Arretxea, Bixente built his own cellar and began his vinification. Since then, he has been working organically (certified since 2002), on 5 ha of vines planted on two emblematic terroirs: red sandstone for the reds and ophites for the whites .
Emotional wines from the living
The estate is distinguished by its natural vinification : fermentation using indigenous yeasts , no added inputs (very low addition of sulfites, < 20 mg/l), and aging carried out in various containers such as Stockinger tuns, barrels, concrete vats and amphorae . The flagship Xingolei cuvée, a blend of equal parts Tannat and Cabernet Franc , vinified in gentle maceration, offers a pure juice , with powdery tannins , a velvety texture, an elegant structure , and a refreshing finish of black fruits and menthol . For the whites, the Malda cuvée, made from Gros and Petit Manseng grown on ophite, is aromatic, fresh and complex.
