Camille & Mathieu Apffel
A new generation at the summit of Savoie
Between Jura and Bauges, a history of passion
Domaine Mathieu Apffel , run by Camille and Mathieu Apffel, represents the new generation of talented winegrowers in Savoie , a vineyard on the rise. Based in Saint-Baldoph, between Chambéry and Apremont, since 2017, Mathieu, originally from the Jura, cultivates around 5 hectares of vines biodynamically. The estate is located at the foot of Mont Granier, on clay-limestone and marl-limestone soils.
Living and respectful viticulture
Savoyard grape varieties and biodynamic farming
The couple cultivates local grape varieties such as Jacquère and Altesse, as well as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. They also have half a hectare of Mondeuse, in the heart of the Bauges massif. The estate has practiced organic viticulture since its beginnings, promoting biodiversity and respectful soil work.
In the cellar, precision and natural methods
In the cellar, Camille and Mathieu apply natural vinification without inputs, using indigenous yeasts, and some vintages are without added sulfur. Their wines are distinguished by great precision and finesse, the fruit of meticulous work in the vineyard and in the cellar.
Pure and expressive mountain cuvées
“Avant la tempête”: Jacquère in its full glory
A favorite to discover: the vintage " Avant la tempête ", a mineral Jacquère that perfectly illustrates the mountain terroir of Savoie.
