Maison Nicolas Morin

Excellence Between Tradition and Modernity

Nicolas Morin, originally from the Vosges, began his career as a cooper in Bordeaux. Passionate about the world of wine, he later turned to viticulture, becoming a vineyard manager in the Côtes de Nuits, then a cellar master back in Bordeaux. With further experience in the same role in Australia and South Africa, he founded Maison Nicolas Morin in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 2014, stepping into the role of grape grower and négociant.
Driven by his passion for organic farming, he believes it is the future and aims to preserve the respect and magic of Burgundy's great terroir. In 2019, he took over three hectares of vines in Mâlain, located 30 minutes east of Dijon.

Natural Vinification and Deep Respect for the Terroir

Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Maison sources grapes and musts from growers practicing organic and biodynamic agriculture. Vinification is carried out gently, by gravity, avoiding excessive pumping.
The appellations Nicolas works with include Meursault, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Santenay, Beaune, Monthélie, and of course, Nuits-Saint-Georges. He selects parcels among the finest, such as En Saint-Jean, Les Epenottes, and Les Terres Blanches.

A Winemaker Who Captured Our Hearts

Nicolas Morin is undoubtedly one of our recent favorites, a winemaker to watch closely for all lovers of natural wines from Burgundy.
