Domaine Dominica , birth of a mountain voice

A bold start in Baigorri: Diane & Bixente Oçafrain

Created in 2020 , the Dominica Estate is carried by Diane and Bixente Oçafrain are engaged in an intimate adventure where vines, wine, and nature intertwine. Starting from almost nothing, their project has come to life on the steep slopes of Baigorri, with plantings of Tannat, Cabernet Franc & Manseng . The estate currently covers approximately 3 hectares of vines in production.

In the winery, the intention of wines without additives The winemaker's philosophy is clear: minimal intervention, respect for the fruit and its origin, and a focus on crafting a wine that speaks first and foremost of its terroir. Fermentation is natural, and aging is carefully considered to preserve the freshness and minerality of the Pyrenean soils. The result is a vibrant, saline Irouléguy red wine, perfectly aligned with the noble freshness of this high-altitude vineyard. New vintages are in the works, including a 2024 white that we particularly enjoyed.
