Wines of Charente
A discreet region with deep winemaking roots
Long associated with the production of Cognac and Pineau, the Charente is a wine region often overlooked by the general public when discussing still wine —and even more so , natural wine. Yet, this territory, bordered by the ocean and blessed with a temperate climate, hides true treasures, nurtured by clay-limestone soils ideal for sustainable agriculture.
Colombard, the quintessential Charente grape variety
Among the region's historic grape varieties, Colombard occupies a central place. Known for its freshness, vivacity, and aromas of white fruits and citrus, it is now being brought back into the spotlight through more natural approaches, without additives or oenological manipulation.
“Bain de Soleil”, a sunny vintage born from a collaboration
It is in this spirit that our Bain de Soleil cuvée was born, the result of a collaboration between Marée Haute and Laurent Bordes , a passionate and talented winemaker from Chais du Port de la Lune in Bordeaux .
This vibrant wine , made from Colombard grapes from the Charente region, offers a dazzling profile: lively, luminous, with notes of citrus peel, fresh pear, and a beautiful mineral tension. A true burst of sunshine in the glass, to be enjoyed with your feet in the water—or at the table, with seafood.
