Reynald Héaulé
Reynald Héaulé, the art of living in Sologne
A self-taught winemaker cultivating diversity south of Orléans
Reynald Héaulé settled in 2002 in Cléry-Saint-André , a small town south of Orléans, at the gateway to the Sologne region , after experiences in Burgundy , then with Claude Courtois . He started modestly with half a hectare , then expanded his estate to now around six hectares , comprising some twenty grape varieties , often rare or forgotten, planted at high density.
Living, blended, independent and meticulously assembled wines
The vines are cultivated organically (and often inspired by biodynamic principles), with particular attention paid to the diversity of the vineyard and the expression of life in the soil. The winemaking process, carried out without additives , relies on indigenous yeasts , gentle maceration , and extended aging in barrels, stainless steel tanks, and concrete vats, sometimes up to 30 months in demi-muids depending on the vintage . Reynald particularly excels in blending : he crafts his blends like a true chef, combining several grape varieties according to their ripeness, the vintage, and the terroir to create profound, complex, and original wines .
