Domaine Jeandaugé
Domaine Jeandaugé, a new voice from the Southwest
A peasant heritage reinvented by Sébastien Fezas
In the heart of the Gers , in the commune of Courrensan , the Jeandaugé Estate embodies a vibrant and forward-looking viticulture. Since 2012 is Sébastien Fezas who took over this family vineyard and breathed new life into it. The estate covers nearly 28 hectares , of which only a small part is vinified in-house - approximately 2 hectares dedicated to natural, human-scale vintages. The typical grape varieties of the Southwest — Syrah, Tannat, Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Manseng — find an ideal setting there to express the strong identity of this terroir.
Lively, sincere and diverse wines
Conversion to organic farming and the use of practices agroecological mark a desire to place the vine at the center of a living ecosystem. No herbicides, plant cover, composts and plant decoctions: everything is designed to promote biodiversity and the vitality of the soils. In the cellar, the fermentations on indigenous yeasts and the absence of additives reflect a deep commitment to natural wine. The estate's vintages range between fleshy reds , bright whites , festive pét-nats and even maceration wines with a strong personality. Each bottle tells the story of the free and demanding vision of Sébastien Fezas , where sincerity takes precedence over artifice.
