Le Vieux Mûrier
Le Vieux Mûrier, the new generation of Crozes-Hermitage
Florian Buit, between Rhone tradition and a contemporary vision
In Larnage, in the heart of Crozes-Hermitage, Florian Buit founded Le Vieux Mûrier after a journey that took him to Burgundy, with Jean-Louis Chave in the Northern Rhone, and then to Australia. Back on the family estate, he chose to vinify himself the grapes that were previously destined for the cooperative cellar. Today, the estate covers about 17 hectares.
Precise and elegant Crozes-Hermitage wines
The estate mainly works with Syrah, but also with Marsanne and Roussanne, employing sustainable viticulture and significant manual labor. The wines prioritize finesse, freshness, and the expression of Crozes-Hermitage granite rather than power. These are straightforward, delightful cuvées, highly representative of the revival of the Northern Rhone.
