Nicolas Morin, originally from the Vosges, began his career as a cooper in Bordeaux. Passionate about the world of wine, he then turned to viticulture, becoming head of cultivation in Côtes de Nuits, then cellar master in Bordeaux. Drawing on his experiences in the same position in Australia and South Africa, he founded Maison Nicolas Morin in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 2014, becoming a merchant/winemaker. His passion for organic farming guides him, declaring that it is the future and that he wants to preserve the respect and magic of the great Burgundian terroir. In 2019, he took over the operation of three hectares of vines in Mâlain, 30 minutes east of Dijon. Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the House purchases grapes and musts from winegrowers practicing organic and biodynamic cultivation. Vinification is carried out gently, by gravity, without excessive pumping. The appellations worked by Nicolas include Meursault, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Santenay, Beaune, Monthélie, and of course, Nuits-Saint-Georges. He selects the most beautiful plots such as En Saint-Jean, Les Epenottes, or even Les Terres Blanches. One of our recent favorites.
