Domaine des Cavarodes: a natural jewel in the north of the Jura
Founded in 2007 by Étienne Thiebaud in Cramans , near Arbois , Domaine des Cavarodes covers 4.5 hectares of vines aged between 15 and 115 years old . Cultivated using organic viticulture , without chemicals or synthetic inputs, the estate produces wines of exceptional purity , faithful to the terroir of each bank of the Loue , between Jura and Franche-Comté .
Emblematic grape varieties and characterful places
On marl , limestone and clay soils, Étienne cultivates the Savagnin , Chardonnay , Trousseau , Poulsard and Pinot Noir grape varieties. Among the flagship locations: Lumachelles in Mouchard (Chardonnay, Trousseau, Pinot Noir, Poulsard), Guille Bouton in Arbois (remarkable Chardonnay), Les Messagelins (Poulsard, Trousseau, Chardonnay). Each plot is worked with care to reveal the unique identity of each wine .
Natural vinification for sought-after wines
The wines are produced without added sulphur or in tiny quantities, with semi-carbonic macerations on the reds (after careful destemming ) and ageing in old barrels . The result? Natural wines of great purity , full of character and emotion , now sought after by wine lovers around the world .
