Caveau du Val d’Amour: Intimate and Artisanal Jura Wines
Cramans: A Micro-Estate and Family Legacy
Behind the Caveau du Val d’Amour is Sylvain Jacquot, a winemaker based in Cramans, north of Arbois, in the heart of the Jura region. Coming from a family of winemakers, he learned vineyard work at a young age from his father and grandfather, before making wine discreetly for many years. The estate was officially established in 2016, although its history dates back much further, to an almost intimate practice of winemaking.
The vineyard covers approximately 1.5 to 2 hectares, spread across several communes around Arbois (Champagne-sur-Loue, Buvilly, Montigny-lès-Arsures…), with a mosaic of plots located within a radius of about twenty kilometers. The vines, often between 20 and 80 years old, are worked traditionally, without chemicals, in a deeply artisanal approach.
Hand-Stitched Wines, Without Artifice
In the cellar, everything takes place in the cellar of his house, with a simple and committed approach: minimal intervention, respect for the grapes, and a desire to let Jura grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Savagnin, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir express themselves. The vinifications are carried out in a free spirit, without seeking standardization, with wines produced in very small quantities.
The wines of Caveau du Val d’Amour are distinguished by their sincerity, their energy, and this sensation of handcrafted wine, without compromise. A confidential, deeply human Jura, where each cuvée reflects both a terroir and a way of living with wine daily.
