Morey-Coffinet
Domaine Morey-Coffinet: The excellence of Chassagne-Montrachet's grand terroirs
A family history at the heart of the Côte de Beaune
The Domaine Morey-Coffinet was born from the union of two great families from Chassagne-Montrachet: the Moreys and the Coffinets. Founded in the late 1970s by Michel Morey and Fabienne Coffinet, the estate is now run by their son Thibault Morey, who gradually took over the reins starting in the 2000s. The vineyard spans approximately 9 hectares, spread across some of the greatest terroirs of the Côte de Beaune, with prestigious plots in Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, but also in Bâtard-Montrachet and Corton-Charlemagne.
Since 2014, Thibault has been engaging the estate in a biodynamic approach, with the desire to restore full vitality to the soils and allow each climate to express its personality. The estate is now managed using organic and biodynamic farming practices, with deep respect for living organisms.
Precision wines, guided by the terroir
In the cellar, vinifications are intentionally minimally interventionist. Fermentations are natural, aging is adapted to each cuvée by limiting the proportion of new wood, and aging is prolonged to refine the texture and precision of the wines. Thibault Morey seeks above all to faithfully translate the identity of each plot, without masking the vintage or the terroir.
The wines of Domaine Morey-Coffinet are distinguished by their purity, their tension, and their depth. The whites offer a precise interpretation of the grand terroirs of Chassagne and Puligny, while the reds combine finesse, energy, and elegance. An essential address in the Côte de Beaune, where each cuvée accurately reflects the richness of its origin.
