Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières, Gamay and single-vineyard expression

Lou, are you there? is the project of Mathilde and Stephen Durieu , winemakers based in Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières , in the heart of the Beaujolais (historical region of Beaujolais-Villages ) where the Gamay grape variety reigns supreme. The domain extends over approximately 8.5 hectares old vines exposed south/southeast , on granite soils characteristics of this part of the vineyard, with careful cultivation that respects living things. 

Organic farming, natural winemaking and terroir wines

Converted to The estate has been practicing organic farming since 2007 , and has begun its Natural winemaking in 2009 , favoring methods that highlight the purity of Gamay and the typicity of the place: manual harvesting , Carbonic maceration , organic treatments, and soil-friendly practices (shallow plowing, mowing, and the presence of sheep in the vineyards during winter) are employed. No oenological additives are used during fermentation, allowing the wines to fully express themselves. the energy and natural freshness of the grape while preserving the structure. 

The wines of Lou, are you there? are deep and vibrant reds , structured by granite slopes and imbued with a natural elegance, typical of the Beaujolais-Villages . The balance is on the freshness of the fruit, the salinity and the digestibility, offering a fruity palette but consistent with the local geology and the winemaker's approach.
