Chiara Drocco
Chiara Drocco, a new generation of winemakers in the Langhe
A family story in the heart of Piedmont
Based in Alba, in the Langhe, Chiara Drocco continues her family's winemaking legacy with a personal approach, deeply rooted in her terroir and the traditional grape varieties of Piedmont. She is part of this generation of female winemakers who seek to offer a freer interpretation of the region's wines, without losing their connection to their origins.
Nebbiolo and the great terroirs of Barolo
After studying engineering, Chiara Drocco returned to the family estate, Cascina Adelaide, to gradually take the reins. The vineyard covers 12 hectares, including 10 hectares of Nebbiolo destined for Barolo, spread across several crus of the appellation. A beautiful playground for a female winemaker who wants, above all, to let the differences between the plots shine through.
Viticulture focused on living soils
Chiara focuses her work on the vineyard, with a commitment to eliminating synthetic chemical treatments and restoring living, balanced soils. Her approach seeks to preserve the quality of the fruit and the natural structure of Nebbiolo, without pursuing more power at any cost. The goal is to make precise, expressive Barolos that are true to their terroirs, where the fruit, energy, and tannins find their balance. A beautiful way to keep the family legacy alive while giving the estate a direction all its own.
